In other news...

...I'm reading Suzanne Collins's Hunger Games series.
I'm a pretty avid reader and when I saw Stephen King give this series praise, I knew that it was going to be good. I'm on the third, and last, book of the series (Mockingjay) and I have to say that it is more addicting than I had first anticipated.
Quick synopsis copied from Wikipedia: Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives in a post-apocalyptic world in the country of Panem where North America once stood. This is where a powerful government working in a central city called the Capitol holds power. In the book, the Hunger Games are an annual televised event where the Capitol chooses one boy and one girl from each district to fight to the death. The Hunger Games exist to demonstrate not even children are above the Capitol's power.

Although this book is aimed for younger readers, I am really enjoying it.

Second Word of the Day- Confiscable

\ kahn-FIS-kuh-bull

Able to be taken by an authorized party.

The police officer is able to use his gun, but only if the chief lets him have it. The gun is confiscable.

I can't see myself ever using this word.

First Word of the day-Efface

So this is how my word of the day is going to work: first, I'll give the pronunciation of the word; second, I'll give the definition of the word in my own words; lastly, I'll use the word in a sentence.

Efface- /if face/
To remove completely by rubbing out or striking out; to destroy
"I hope to efface my poor writing with this blog."

Welcome to my blog.

I have to decided to create this blog in hopes of improving my writing and typing skills, but to keep it entertaining I will post a word of the day and try to use it in a sentence. This will not only improve my vocabulary, but hopefully my viewer's as well.
